Activities Aide

Assists the Activities Director in providing active and passive, group and individual activities that enhance the lives of residents we care for at Maple Farm for life enrichment purposes and a sense of well-being.

Hours

4:30-7pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday

• Transports residents to and from activities in a safe and timely manner.
• Ensures that activity room is set up for program and all needed supplies are available.
• Ensures that activities adhere to posted calendar changes.
• Ensures that all residents are returned promptly to rooms at the end of the event and that program room is returned to its normal state.
• Provides assistance as needed to residents during activities.
• Ensures that each activity is conducted in a positive and professional manner.
• Invites and encourages residents to attend activities.
• Keeps nursing department aware of resident programs.
• Ensures that calendar changes are noted and communicated appropriately.
• Monitors residents' participation and documents attendance of all events.
• Completes appropriate documentation within required timeframe.
• Identifies and is responsive to the needs of on-site volunteers.
• Assists with planning and implementation of volunteer recognition events.
• Provides visits to residents to meet their social and cognitive needs, especially to residents who choose to stay in their room.
• Demonstrates creativity and neatness when developing bulletin board posters and other communication aids.
• Ensures that office area and all rooms used for programs are neat and orderly at all times.

• Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
• Must have language skills essential for leading groups.

• Must have patience, tact, cheerfulness and enthusiasm.
