  • Overview

    Supervises Maintenance Department staff to properly maintain all building systems and related equipment.


    Hours: 7:00am-4:00pm


    • Carries out other responsibilities as directed by the Director of Facility Services.
    • Perform administrative functions such as:
    • Supervise personnel, schedule hours, assign duties, evaluate work performance, promote employee morale, and assist in hiring process of new employees.
    • Provide orientation and in-service training for staff on building equipment and systems.
    • Assure compliance with policies and procedures.
    • Requisition supplies and equipment and maintain inventories for department operation.
    • Maintain department records and equipment manuals.
    • Monitors DayForce entries.
    • Oversees generator testing and maintains records.
    • Assists with identifying and resolving construction warranty issues.
    • Assists with "staffing" the Facility Services Department.
    • Establish preventive maintenance schedules.
    • Assure proper functioning of all facility equipment and systems.
    • Make recommendations for replacement of equipment and systems to Director of Facility Services.
    • Interacts with all contracted service organizations and oversees their work projects as directed by the Director of Facility Services.
    • Comply with infection control, environmental, safety, OSHA and Department of Health regulations.
    • Schedule 24-hour maintenance coverage and assign duty.
    • Respond to emergency calls and situations as required.
    • Coordinates snow removal with Grounds Supervisor


    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Ability to direct and supervise others.
    • Technical training in maintenance work, e.g. basic plumbing, electricity, carpentry.
    • At least 5 years’ experience in plant operation and maintenance work preferred.
    • Thorough knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and allied machinery, and the various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communication systems.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, and building plans.
    • Knowledge of federal, state, and local codes, NFPA Life Safety Code, OSHA, and requirements of regulatory agencies. Work closely with Skilled Nursing Department to achieve these objectives.
    • Shows initiative in departmental responsibilities and follows through on requests and tasks.
    • Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used.
