  • Overview

    The Volunteer Director Assistant is responsible for the scheduling of volunteers in all service areas and for assisting the Director of Volunteer Services in other duties as required. 


     


    HOURS


    8:00AM-12:00PM Monday-Friday


    20 hours a week

    Responsibilities


    • Communication: Delivers clear, effective communication and takes responsibility for understanding others.

    • Information Gathering: Identifies and gathers necessary information.

    • Planning & Organization: Manages the work responsibilities so tasks are completed accurately, efficiently and effectively.

    • Treats all information about residents, their condition and family as confidential information.

    • Coordinates monthly documentation of volunteer hours, and prepares monthly report.

    • Documents and tracks all procedures and paperwork related to each volunteer (ex. vaccinations, TB testing, etc.)

    • Maintains and updates volunteer lists, schedules and miscellaneous volunteer records.

    • Assists with annual recognition, picnic and other special volunteer events.

    • Cooperates with all departments requesting volunteers

    • Schedules and substitutes volunteers.

    • Maintains daily documentation related to daily in-house mail delivery. Keeps a record of admissions and transfers of residents.

    • Assists with operations of the Refresh Gifts and Essentials and Share & Care Shop.

    • Assists Director of Volunteer Services in other duties as assigned.

    • Willing to work an afternoon or evening if an event is scheduled. 

    Qualifications


    • Strong communication skills and commitment to excellent customer service (ie. volunteers, other departments)

    • Commitment to developing and maintaining a positive working relationship with volunteers

    • Ability to adapt easily to change and to create an encouraging environment for volunteers

    • Excellent organizational skills

    • Ability to keep and track accurate records

    • Excellent computer skills are essential for this position.
