  • Overview

    Perform a wide variety of maintenance tasks required to keep the buildings and facility equipment in good working condition.

     

    HOURS

    2:00pm-10:30pm & 10:30pm-7:00am 

    Some weekends, Very Flexible Schedule

    *Combination of both shifts: 32-40 hours a week*

    Responsibilities

    Perform functions such as:

    • General maintenance and repair of campus facilities.
    • Moving furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
    • Painting, wall repairs, basic carpentry.
    • Routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance on air conditioners (changing filters, lubrication, belts, etc.)
    • Changing light bulbs as necessary.
    • Assist other trades such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC.
    • Take temperature and pressure readings on HVAC equipment and Domestic Hot Water and record.
    • Take pool and spa readings and record.
    • Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.
    • Assist Grounds department with snow and ice removal.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Work experience and/or technical training in maintenance work, e.g. basic plumbing, electricity, and carpentry.
    • At least 1 year of experience in plant operation and maintenance work.
    • Basic knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and allied machinery, and the various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communication systems.
    • Ability to read and write clearly.
    • Shows initiative in departmental responsibilities and follows through on requests and tasks.
    • Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used.
    • Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions.
    • Must be willing to train and participate in ongoing staff development programs.
