  • Overview

    Plan and implement programs of individual and group activities based on residents' choice and needs.



    4:00pm-8:00pm E/O Weekend *40 hours per pay*

    (10 days per pay)


    • Assist as needed with the activity component of the resident assessment.
    • Identify and document in the resident's care plan the activity interests, needs and concerns of the resident, as directed by the Activity Coordinator.
    • Assist as needed with the reviewing and updating of care plans, as directed by the Activities Coordinator.
    • Participate as needed as an active member of the interdisciplinary team. Will attend care plan meetings when directed by the Activities Coordinator.
    • Assist with household circles as required by the Activities Coordinator.
    • Plan and implement evening and weekend functions as necessary.
    • Supervise and direct volunteers involved in assisting with activity programs.
    • Schedule and implement room visits and in-room activities for residents unable to leave their rooms.
    • Complete one-to-one documentation.
    • Schedule and implement indoor and outdoor activity programs. Assist Director of Therapeutic Recreation in trips and outings.
    • Maintain an activity attendance record for each resident.
    • Able to provide Resident Assistant functions as needed.
    • Maintain an adequate supply of materials to implement activity programs.
    • Observe infection control procedures related to the Activity Program.
    • Be responsible for the safety of residents under his/her care or supervision.
    • Consistently work cooperatively with residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers.


    • Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
    • Must be available for every other weekend, every other holiday, and evening work when necessary.
    • Must have strong writing and documentation skills.
    • Must be able to use a computer.
    • Must have language skills essential for leading groups.
    • Creativity, resourcefulness and imagination.
    • Must have patience, tact, cheerfulness and enthusiasm.
    • Must be able to get along with all staff.
    • Must be able to read and write.
    • Must be efficient and organized with a good sense of responsibility.
    • Must be willing to assist in the households as needed.
