  • Overview

    To perform housekeeping duties in assigned areas as directed, following established policies, procedures and housekeeping practices.



    7:00am - 3:30pm


    • Follow housekeeping schedule and assignments.
    • Clean areas according to established housekeeping procedures, work flow patterns and routines:
      • Resident rooms and bathrooms, nursing stations, ancillary areas.
      • Lounges, lobbies, locker rooms.
      • Utility rooms, chapel, workrooms, offices, corridors, elevators, stairwells and entrances.
      • Public areas, corridors and restrooms.
      • Dining rooms, meeting rooms
    • Assemble cleaning supplies and equipment. Check equipment for proper functioning. Organize work schedule within assigned area.
    • Perform housekeeping duties such as the following:
      • Wear proper PPE as required by area cleaned.
      • Hi-dust and damp, sanitize room furnishings, fixtures and all horizontal surfaces.
      • Sanitize bathrooms and replenish supplies.
      • Dry mop and damp mop floors.
      • Spot clean walls, ceilings, windows, doors.
      • Vacuum carpeting and upholstery.
      • Report structural defects, wear and tear and defects in furnishings to supervisor.
      • Report evidence of pests to supervisor.
    • Clean and maintain housekeeping equipment after each use.
    • Comply with infection control, sanitation, and safety regulations.
    • Identify and report any equipment malfunction to supervisor.


    • High School diploma or equivalent desirable.
    • Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
    • Good sense of responsibility and a high degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
    • Must treat residents with kindness, cheerfulness and respect.
    • Must be willing to train and participate in ongoing staff development programs.
