    The purpose of this position is to assist in assessing resident care needs and implementing appropriate action. Implement nursing policies and procedures.

    • Counsel certified nursing assistants and recommend personnel action(s) to the Director of Nursing Service as necessary.
    • Observe infection control procedures relating to nursing services.
    • Be responsible for the safety of residents under his/her care or supervision.
    • Observe Residents' Rights policies at all times.
    • Observe all facility safety policies and procedures.
    • Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
    • Consistently work cooperatively with administration, nursing service personnel, physicians, community agencies, residents, families and consultants.
    • Come to work in a clean, neat uniform and consistently present an appropriate professional appearance.
    • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
    • Assume accountability for data contained in the employees' handbook.
    • Perform other related duties as directed by his/her supervisor.
    • Complies with established policies and procedures and maintains established standards and practices including the Compliance program/Code of Conduct.
    • Must treat all information about residents, their condition and family as confidential information
    • Direct, evaluate, and supervise all resident care and initiate corrective action
    • Make daily resident rounds and report status of nursing care to the Director of Nursing Service and Administrator.
    • Supervise implementation of nursing rehabilitation and restorative program.
    • Participate in review of Quality Indicator reports and implementation of corrective actions to improve resident care.
    • Assist with analysis of incident and accident investigation reports to determine cause(s) and implement corrective action(s), when appropriate.
    • Timely completion of residents' MDS assessments and care plans with follow-up action as necessary.
    • Review residents admitted and compare physician orders with each resident's plan of care to assure appropriate implementation of physician's plan of care.
    • Participate in the Quality Assessment and Assurance Program, for the nursing department, in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Committee.
    • Supervise the Infection Control Program by reviewing infection control reports from charge nurses, analyzing data and presenting to Quality Assurance Committee.

       Assess resident equipment and supply needs, and make recommendations to the Director of Nursing Service.

       Complete reports and assignments accurately and adhere to established time schedules.Establish open lines of communication between all nursing personnel and consistently take follow-up action as necessary.


       Will be responsible to provide activities for residents in their household, conducting programs, visits and activities geared to the interest and abilities of their elders. They will document activity participation and responses in Caretracker.


    • Registered by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a licensed registered nurse.
    • Possesses initiative, judgment, dependability, and leadership skills.
    • Possesses the ability to work cooperatively with others and is able to delegate wisely.
    • Possesses the ability to teach skills necessary to the appropriate completion and documentation of necessary information.
    • Possesses basic computer data entry skills.
    • Criminal background check must be completed and clear prior to hiring.
