  • Overview

     Provide delicious, nutritional meals, served properly at appropriate temperatures. Supervise employees and oversee kitchen in absence of management.



    • Responsible for serving food at safe temperatures.
    • Using our recipes and upholding our standards, you will assist with food preparation and production.
    • Follows through with batch cooking.
    • Follow manufacture's directions in use, operation, and care of equipment.
    • Take pride in the appearance, taste and overall quality of food.
    • Be creative with your food presentation.
    • Keeping a clean work area and equipment in kitchen after each meal. Assist with other cleaning schedules (weekly and monthly cleaning schedules).
    • Accurately document food and freezer temperatures.
    • Regularly checks temperature of food and completes tasks on production sheet as assigned.
    • Oversee kitchen in absence of manager and in some cases direct supervision of shifts.
    • Assume responsibility for meeting meal schedules.
    • Assists with inventories and stocking as needed.
    • Comply with established dietary standards and with infection control, sanitation, and safety regulations.
    • Set example to team for proper sanitation practices, procedures and accept ownership for all customer service.


    • Ability to work closely with others in a spirit of cooperation, and identifies with and promotes the Mission and Philosophy of Garden Spot Village.
    • Knowledge of cooking procedures and large quantity recipes.
    • Able to prepare and serve food according to menus and recipes.
    • Servsafe certified.
    • Must be willing to train and participate in ongoing staff development programs.
    • Graduate of food related course helpful (Serv Safe).
